The real charm lies in the couple of public BBQs positioned poolside, where you can fire up your own meat while the kids splash about in three well-maintained pools. The morning shade from those magnificent old gums creates the perfect spot for a leisurely barbie, though I must grumble about the spectacularly inconvenient car park that feels like a cross-country trek with arms full of sausages and swimmers. The on-site café saves the day when you can't be bothered with the barbecue, serving decent tucker with surprisingly efficient service. Between the heated children's pool, the serious 50-metre lap pool, and the splash pad, there's something for every family member while you tend to the cooking.
